Prof. Tadeusz Bohdal, the University's Rector, has been appointed a new Chairman of the Committee of Thermodynamics and Combustion of the Polish Academy of Sciences (for the term of 2015 – 2019). This is a great honour to the local scientific environment. For the first time ever, a member of the University's personnel will be in charge of the work of a scientific committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Prof. Tadeusz Bohdal, Doctor Habilitated, M.Eng. is the author of over 300 scientific as well as scientific and technical publications (both at home and abroad), 11 books and over 120 documented studies for businesses. He supervised and participated in 16 research projects that were financed by the government and the EU. He is the author of over 150 opinions related to qualifying works, grants and studies. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the “Refrigeration” monthly, a scientific consultant of the “Refrigeration and Air Conditioning” monthly as well as a member of scientific committees and conferences both at home and abroad. In the years 2004 – 2010, he was a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Refrigeration Institute in Paris. He promoted 8 doctors, 220 engineers and masters of engineering chiefly in the specialisation of heat power engineering and refrigeration. He is the founder of the Koszalin school of specialist research into the phase changes of refrigerants. He developed a theory of the wave nature of boiling and condensation.
